Dreams in deep sky: Pismis-Moren 1

Here is a strange open star cluster that I bet you have never seen: it is cataloged like Pismis-Moren 1. Singing on to a high declination in the northern constellation Cepheo, was discovered by the Armenian-Messican astronomer Paris Pismis and the Mexican astronomer Marco Moreno-Collaleo.

Few data have been collected on this small group, which measures 9 ‘and is involved with the Nebula Sharpless 2–140 issue, which surrounds it. The nebula and the cluster are about 3,000 light years away.

The bright edge of the nebula is caused by the ionization by the main sequence B Star HD 211880, which is exciting a BOK bloodry.

This area is part of the so -called Cefeo bubble, an expanding gust of gas and the formation of stars associated with the Cepheus Ob 2 association.
